Sea Ventures Training Programs
Sea Ventures provides a comprehensive dive training program from a basic introduction to scuba diving to refreshers and professional education programs. In addition to SSI (Scuba Schools International) programs we also offer First Aid, CPR and AED training. Below is a list of our courses with a brief description. Try SCUBA!
A single course designed to be an introduction to scuba diving. No previous experience or equipment is needed. We team you with a professional staff member and loan you all the equipment to let you Try SCUBA in a heated indoor pool. When you find out how much fun it is, the cost of the course ($25) can be applied to the cost of your Open Water Diver class.Open Water Diver
SSI's Personalized Training Approach accelerates the process of making you a serious diver in a way that is comfortable and enjoyable for you. After all, everyone learns at a different pace and has personal objectives for their diving. Our courses are offered in a 5 night format or private lessons. This course trains divers for a lifetime of recreational diving.
SCUBA Skills Update
This course is designed for divers who haven't been diving for a while
or just want to brush up on their skills. In the SCUBA Skills Update
you will have the opportunity to practice and review the SCUBA skills
you learned in your open water diver class and learn techniques that may have changed since you took your class. You will have the
opportunity to refresh your memory and motor coordination and practice
your self-aid skills, all with the guidance of a dive leader.
Usually 1 night.

Advanced Open Water Diving / Specialty Classes
Advanced and Specialty activities introduce certified divers to a whole new world of diving opportunities. Learning is easy. You can purchase SSI Specialty manuals and videos from Sea Ventures, your SSI Authorized Dealer. Then enroll in a specialty course, to develop your specialized scuba skills with an SSI Advanced Instructor.
SSI Specialty Courses: Boat Diving, Computer Diving, Deep Diving, Diver Stress & Rescue, Dry Suit Diving, Enriched Air Nitrox, Equipment Techniques, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility Diving, Search & Recovery, Underwater Photography, Waves, Tides & Currents, Wreck Diving, Unique Specialties (written by SSI Instructors).
Stress and Rescue
The SSI Stress & Rescue Course is specifically designed to train divers in lifesaving/conventional diver rescue techniques and how to recognize/handle diver stress.The SSI Stress & Rescue Course includes instructions in:
-Self-rescue and diver stress
-Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
-Emergency management and equipment
-Panicked diver response
-Underwater problems
-Missing diver procedures
-Surfacing the unconscious diver
-In-water rescue breathing protocols
-Egress (exits)
-First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
-Dive accident scenarios
Prerequisites for the course are:
-SSI Open Water certification
-Certification in Oxygen First Aid
-Certification in First Aid/CPR

Sea Ventures offers a Stress and Rescue Classes regularly.
First Aid / CPR/AED
We offer MEDIC FIRST AID's program for first aid. MEDIC FIRST AID's training process, based on proven instructional design theory and practice, utilizes "hearing, seeing, doing, speaking, and feeling" methodology to create student-centered learning and a low-stress learning environment. Our course is taught in the Sea Ventures classrooms on a regular basis. After certification, you can maintain your proficiency and receive updates through MEDIC FIRST AID's computer based training, on-line.
Technical Diving Training

Professional Certifications
Have you ever wanted to share your joy and knowledge of scuba diving with other people? The Divecon (Dive Controller) program provides the education so you can become an assistant instructor. This course is a minimum of three months and minimum requirements must be met. For more information contact the shop and ask to speak to a Dive Control Specialist Instructor.
